We know that choosing the right environment for your child's care is one of the most important decisions you will make for your little one. Bees Knees Pre-school provides childcare and education for children aged 2 to 5 years. We are OFSTED registered and a member of the National Day Nursery Association (NDNA) and the Early Years Alliance (EYA).
The Pre-school is open every week during term time, from 9.15am until 3.15pm. We offer sessions from 9.15am until 12.15pm and 12.15pm until 3.15pm. For children who are with us for both sessions, we request they bring a packed lunch.
Debra has over 25 years of experience working within childcare, both in a nursery setting and as a childminder. Originally volunteering for The Hive when she was a childminder, during the pandemic sadly she had to close her business. However, a new opportunity arose to start a pre-school and Debra grabbed it with both hands and we opened Bees Knees Pre-school in 2021 with Debra at the helm.
Sarah has previously worked at Silsden Primary School as a Teaching Assistant. However, after volunteering for The Hive to help Debra to set up the Pre-school, a new challenge presented itself and Sarah become the assistant. In 2024 Sarah completed the Level 3 Early Years Educator course and is now fully qualified to work with pre-school children.
Hannah originally put her youngest son into the pre-school when it first opened. She loved it so much, that in 2023, Hannah came to join us as another Level 3 Early Years Educator.
At Bee's Knees Pre-school, we provide children with the best possible start in life, ensuring they learn and develop well in a play-based environment. We believe that a broad range of knowledge and skills is essential in laying the right foundation for future progress. Our aim is to promote equality of opportunity, enabling every child to thrive and reach their full potential.
We are committed to offering a high-quality, carefully planned, and sequenced curriculum that has a positive impact on children's progress. By fostering strong foundations and resilience, we aim to equip children with the skills they need to become successful, life-long learners and valuable members of society.
Our curriculum is designed to serve as the cultural capital that we recognise our children require. We acknowledge and value the existing knowledge and interests the children bring with them, and we build upon this by providing opportunities for exploration, vocabulary development, and the acquisition of language structures. We believe that language is a powerful tool for learning, and we actively encourage children to build and use their vocabulary and language skills across all areas of the curriculum.
To ensure meaningful learning experiences, we link children's learning to their play and exploration. We provide a holistic provision that nurtures their curiosity and encourages independent thinking. By allowing children to engage in purposeful and enjoyable play, we believe they will develop a love for learning and gain a deeper understanding of the world around them.
At Bee's Knees Pre-school, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired. By focusing on building strong foundations, fostering resilience, and promoting cultural capital, we strive to empower our children to become confident, creative, and well-rounded individuals.
With our carefully crafted curriculum, we aim to ignite a lifelong passion for learning, enabling our children to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead as they grow and progress through their educational journey and beyond.
