The Hive Uniform Shop

We take donations (new & pre-loved) of uniform for Silsden Primary School and South Craven school and during our core opening hours of 9am until 3pm Monday to Friday the green bin is located in the entrance for you to drop off.  If you cannot get to us during these times we can arrange to collect, or for you to drop off elsewhere at another mutually convenient time.  Just send a message via email (see below) to arrange.

We will hold pop up shops from the Uniform Shed.  These are run by our volunteers so we rely on them to provide us with dates they are available to run the sales.  We will post on Facebook and Instagram as soon as we have dates available, so please check our socials for more information.

If you cannot make our face to face sales, why not send an email with your request.  Provide us with the following information:

  • School (SPS or SCS)
  • Item required
  • Size
  • Any other important information

and send to uniform@thehivesilsden.co.uk

Please be patient as our volunteers are usually in on a Friday and will check our stock.  We will then email you back to confirm if we have the items you require and arrange collection and payment.

If you are wondering where the online shop has gone - We took the decision in Summer 2024 to close the online uniform shop as we just did not have the volunteers to help.  The job was very labour intensive, so we agreed to go back to just having face to face sales only.

Recycling

When we collect recycling on behalf of Recycling for Good Causes, we receive a generous monetary donation which is put back into the charity.

We accept donations of all of the items listed on the poster (below).

The Hive Silsden CIO feel strongly about supporting our community to help reduce waste and whilst the following companies do not send any monetary donations in return for the recycling, it does not cost us anything to collect them at our recycling station or to send them to the destinations (thanks to our kind volunteers).

What we recycle: Ink Cartridges

www.recycle4charity.co.uk

Recycle4Charity is a free and accessible used ink cartridge programme, that helps its thousands of members raise funds for charity and non-for-profit organisations.

What we recycle: Domestic batteries

https://www.recycle-more.co.uk/about-us

Valpak Limited created the recycle-more website in 2000 so that 'seller' members of their Packaging Compliance Scheme could meet their consumer information obligations (CIOs), under the Packaging Waste Regulations, FREE of charge.

Together with our recycling partners, our textile recovery project prevents these bras going into landfill before giving them a new lease of life.

Successful ventures like this provide employment and an income for people living in the UK. Any bras that are genuinely beyond redemption are dismantled and disposed of properly.

For every tonne of bras collected, Against Breast Cancer receives £700 to fund our research. With over 30 million women in the UK you could really help make a difference!

Bra Recycling

It’s time to bin your bra!

Our bra recycling scheme takes your unwanted or unloved bras and through our network of bra banks raises vital funds for pioneering breast cancer research.
