Here at The Hive, we do what we can to promote sustainability and protect the environment.

If you want to recycle, why not check out our recycle page to see what we currently recycle at The HIve.

In November 2020 we were donated some saplings from the Woodland Trust, which have now been planted by some of our Trustees and volunteers.

We have a bug hotel and bird feeders at The Hive. The bug hotel was built with the help of some children that attend The Hive and Creation Station and our recycling champion, Emily Preston. Local resident Graham Silverwood kindly donated the handmade centrepiece on top.  The bird feeders and bird food were kindly donated by members of the community including Dogsbody and Friends. It is our hope that eventually we will be able to create a natural woodland in that area.

During our events, we always try to use re-useable or recyclable items.  At our Firework and Family Fun Night in 2019, the containers & cutlery from the BBQ were all recyclable or compostable and the cups from the bar and donut van were recyclable.

At the 2019 Fireworks & Family Fun event we worked with Plastic Free Silsden to help encourage people to recycle and to dispose of the recycling correctly.
